  • I don't know about German internships, but at AECOM here in the USA, we take in a good many interns. For most of the year, here in the Boston office anyway, we select interns from local university co-op programs, but during the summer, there has been deviations from this and we have taken in summer interns applying independently. I know I don't necessarily speak for all types of engineering or even all AECOM, but I hope this helps.

  • I was not a participant, but am deeply engaged in spreading the CTC messages. I participated in a meeting at the NAE 2 years ago on the topic. I love the concept of this site, as well as its message. To taker it to heart, I wrote a book along with 18 engineer contributors from the Boston Society of Civilo Engineers, entitled "From Sundaes to Space Stations: Careers in Civil Engineering". It will come out on March 1. Ordinarily, we reach out to all facets of engineering equally through our BSCES activities, but this book was written towards a middle school or high school audience with the express intention of showing the subject as "cool" and helping, without stress on math and science. Please - any other workshops, keep me, the BSCES and ASCE in mind. There are many of us working hard every day to spread the CTC message, and we have plenty to add to any conversation on this topic!
